Pinguicula
Butterworts
These small attractive plants grow rosetted with sticky leafs, they are found in temperate areas and even as far as Mexico they have a variety of pretty coloured flowers which put on a show for a long while for the grower to enjoy and can certainly rival African violets if only their popularity increased The plants were originally grown by the Victorians to help control white fly in their green houses .the plants mainly catch small insects such as gnats which become stuck on the sticky leafs which roll over the insect so it can be digested.
